This series consists of a file on Abdelkader and Abdeslam, sons of Hadj Nassar. The records were maintained by the U.S. Legation, Morocco. The records concern the voluntary conveyance of property by Abdelkader and Abdeslam to the U.S. government for the purpose of preserving the light and habitable value of the principal offices in the building of the American Diplomatic Agency and Consulate General at Tangier. The file contains letters thanking them for their gift and various documents on citizenship and travel of the father and sons. The file includes a citizenship certificate of Hadj Nassar, dated February 16, 1874.

The first U.S. envoy to Morocco presented his credentials on September 29, 1906. On July 1, 1917, the U.S. Legation at Tangier was downgraded to an Agency and Consulate General, and in 1925 the U.S. mission was designated a Diplomatic Agency and Consulate General. The Legation was reinstated in 1933. The U.S. Embassy at Rabat was established on June 11, 1956, and on that same date the Legation at Tangier was redesignated as a Consulate General....
